We should get GoW & Thai Wife in on this one.

GoW thinks it's perfectly acceptable to watch pictures of maimed and dead people on TV whilst eating dinner and can't understand why I get angry if she doesn't turn that shit off.

Same as the previous one bought home a porno vid of this (supposedly) 15 yo girl and couldn't understand why I threw it out the window and had a go at her, especially as all her workmates though it was great.

Basically, regarding things like this, they're uncivilised savages and it is our burden (again) to civilise them.

    Bar-girls Income

Im curious as to the AVERAGE wage or income of a bar-girl in Bangkok. Some simple calculations before tax (hahaha) suggest an average wage as high as 500,000 Baht pa. Which is much higher than the national average excluding the Thaksin type outliers.

    What is the consensus?

    Any ideas?

How many times have I heard this 'fuck off to farangland'

why should these people fuck off too farangland,at the end of the day they're the victims,if it was your family would you still have the same view.

As for 'think differently', well, yes - but only as a result of culture. Adopted Thai kids in the West with Farang foster parents do not think differently than their peers.
In the same way that western kids in Thailand think differently because of culture. The point is not whether they 'think differently' but whether the way they think is acceptable to farangs who choose to live there. If the 'farang way' is the only way perhaps the farangs in
question ought to fukc off back to farangland?

    HOME INVASION
Four held in rape of woman, daughter

Attack 'was in revenge for debt owed by German underworld figure'

Police yesterday arrested four people suspected of the July 4 rape of a mother and her teenage daughter.

Two men and two women are in custody for the alleged assaults.

The victims claimed they were raped by robbers in the Pathum Thani home of a suspected German underworld figure.

Provincial police commissioner Lt-General Wuth Puawase named the four suspects as Boonyong Khongsiri, 49, his nephew Kosin Khongsiri, 25, the nephew's common-law wife Wilaiwan Pheungchai, 25, and the businessman's maid, Plew Seubrom, 54.

Boonyong was charged with robbery and the rape of the wife. Kosin and Wilaiwan were charged with robbery. Plew was charged as an accomplice, he said.

Police continue to look for Boonyong's son Channarong Khongsiri, 26. He is wanted for the alleged rape of a minor and robbery.

The German's wife alleged that at about 4am on July 4 the gang broke into the Thanya Buri district house, tied her and her 13-year-old daughter up, before raping them and stealing valuables worth Bt590,000.

Wuth said police arrested Boonyong the same day. He told them Kosin and Wilaiwan had fled to Phuket.

Boonyong reportedly confessed to the crimes. He said Channarong had asked for help seeking Bt700,000, claimed to be back pay for working as the German's bodyguard.

He also claimed the man owed him money for abducting another German businessman.

The man was not at home when they arrived. The wife knew nothing of the alleged debt.

The wife and daughter were then raped and robbed.

Boonyong claimed to have an intimate relationship with Plew, who believed him to be a policeman. He wore a uniform whenever he visited. He had been in the house on several occasions.

He told police Plew let them into the house on the day of the alleged rapes and robbery.

Police have been unable to contact the German man.
They suspect he may be involved with an international criminal gang, he said.

Even apart from the twist provided by the latest report. l find this whole form of reporting, cheap, shoddy and sordid. lt goes way beyond good taste or cultire. lt comes right back down to basic consideration for other human beings.

l have found that living here over a number of years the Thais like to assume a lot of things, especially about foreigners. lt appears to me that this is another one of those instances. The taking of such photos may be okay in Thai culture, but it is wrong to simply assume that it is acceptable to take anyone's picture and plaster it across the national newspapers.

People should at least ask first, if it is okay to do so. This is a fundamental thing, so fundamental, it should go without saying, but it hardly ever does. Time and time close Thai associates assume things about me, and act accordingly. They don't know for sure, but they think they do. this has led to many problems that could so easily be avoided with a couple of simple questions being asked first. Asking for permission is one of the most basic considerations in the world. Well you would like to think so anyway, but when it comes to selling newspapers, lots of them, it appears this is not the case any longer.

A man arrested on rape charge

Police arrested a man on Thursday they say raped the 13-year-old daughter of a suspected German gangster at his Pathum Thani home.

They say Channarong Khongsiri, 27, was part of a gang of four that broke into the girl's home, raped her and her mother and made off with about Bt1 million in valuables on July 4.

Channarong was arrested in the Pho Thale district of Phichit. Items stolen from the house were found with him, as was a weapon believed to have been used in the attack.

According to Police MajGeneral Chanin Preechaharn, Channarong confessed to robbery and rape.

He allegedly admitted the attacks on the mother and daughฌter were in revenge for a Bt700,000 debt.

Channarong claimed the German never paid him for more than a year's work as a bodyguard.

The German is a suspected underworld figure. Police had not been able to find him following the attacks and robbery. He was not at home at the time of the assaults.

Channarong claimed the German conned foreigners out of their money through bogus investฌment schemes and smuggled cigฌarettes.

Chanin said Channarong had a previous conviction for rape.

On Monday police arrested Channarong's father, Boonyong Khongsiri, 49, on rape and robbery charges.

Also arrested were a cousin, Kosin Khongsiri, 25, and his commonlaw wife, Wilaiwan Pheungchai, 25. They are charged with robbery.

The victim's housekeeper, Plew Seubrom, 54, was charged as an accomplice.

What a total fucking piece of shit. Left his family to suffer this! I would love him to wash up on a beach somewhere with a bullet between the eyes.

(CBS/AP) Princess Diana's brother said Thursday he was "sickened" that the CBS had broadcast photos of the princess as she lay dying after a car accident — the first time a major media outlet has published pictures of the injured princess.

The British press expressed front-page outrage, while Prime Minister Tony Blair called the broadcast of the grainy black-and-white images "distasteful."

The CBS News program "48 Hours Investigates"on Wednesday night briefly showed two pictures taken by paparazzi at the scene of the Aug, 31, 1997, accident in Paris. Diana died hours later. Her companion, Dodi Fayed, and chauffeur Henri Paul also were killed.

The network insisted the pictures — which showed an unconscious Diana being treated by a doctor as she lay slumped in the back of a car in the Alma road tunnel — were not graphic or exploitative.

    ....................

I wonder which of the British tabloids will be first to seize the moral low ground and publish the pictures.

The Sun, that bastion of high quality reporting, published suitably doctored photographs this morning - doubtless so that their readers could share the editors sense of outrage.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.
