A man was arrested yesterday for allegedly distributing naked images of his former girlfriend on the Internet, police said.
Police identified the suspect as Krissada Phupui, 26, who was arrested at the car park of a shopping mall in the Rangsit area.
They took the man to his home in Bangkok’s Phasi Charoen district and, during a search, found an unspecified number of nude electronic images of the alleged victim in the suspect’s computer. They also found that the suspect had sent email messages containing the nude images to at least 10 addresses.
Police charged the man with libel, a charge he denied.
Yesterday’s arrest came after a 20-year-old university student filed a police complaint last Thursday. She claimed the suspect, with whom she had an intimate relationship, took nude photographs of her with his digital camera while they were in a hotel room in Pattaya.
She later asked him to delete the images but he refused to do so. They had quarrelled and she had broken up with him.
Earlier this month, the alleged victim received a call from a stranger who said he had received an email containing her nude picture and her mobile-phone number.
