| I know it was His Royal Highness the King of Bhutan who called it 'gross national happiness', but is my happiness as an expat really 'gross'? It sounds horrible ! We must be talking about actual happiness/pleasure enjoyed, less the cost/effort of achieving it... in which case it's 'net national happiness' which sounds much nicer. Surveys in Thailand have compared results for different regions, the poor rural areas scoring highest. Such a survey could have some comparative validity though a survey of expats nationally could only indicate trends. The other question is why do visitors want to come back. Thailand's pretty dirty and not that beautiful so why? I can only think that it has to be for the special qualities of the Thai people! (Fade in traditional Thai harps and warbly voices!) |

| And a relatively hairless vagina swaying to and fro a mere meter from your face -- attached in one direction to leather boots and the other to a set of perky plumpers topped of by coffee brown spigots. An angelic voice cooing how handsum you are while a delicate hand slowly slips 1,000 notes out of your wallet. |
