| It really is strange, that list of deaths is so striking. Why are there so many 'suicides'? Why do people fall out of, and from, buildings in Thailand so much? I realise that some of them are certainly suicide, but some must be murders also. Having said that, it would be quite difficult to be pushed from a balcony/roof top by a Thai woman or man do you think? My Mrs would have difficulty pushing me off the balcony, even if I was unaware of her behind me. The BiB really do need to start doing some investigations into this. Likely? I don't think so. The easiest thing is to call the accidental/suicide (or even accidental suicides!). Our collective embassies should be doing something about it, maybe pressuring the Thai government to act, but it seems the embassies only intervene on a case by case basis and don't see the bigger picture.

| Yeah, the balcony height is lower than many parts of the world, but does it really explain all these deaths? When drunk, yes, a few might accidentally go over. But there really is too many, centred on Pattaya and Bangkok, which are not explained by a low balcony rail. I have to say it is odd. Too many suicides/accidents by a minority in any society should set alarm bells ring in any government. The embassies really should be looking into this and bringing pressure on the appropriate authorities. |

Guy commits suicide, plastic bag over the head with his hands tied behind his back. How many people have not hired private investigators to investigate the death of a family member in Thailand. What was it 10% of all British deaths abroad occur in Thailand? The Brit who drowned in Pattaya - his mother hired a private investigator and what became of that - nothing. Have we forgot the two Korean women who died on Koh Larn island not too long ago. That was also suicide 48 hours later. ![]() | |

| So you're drunk. Pissed as a fart. Swigging from a bottle of whiskey. You end up on a roof top. The last thing I think you'd do is carefully put down the bottle and then jump. IMO you'd take it with you. Secondly to the grieving mother, my sincerest condolences. You mention that the newspaper reports were not accurate. Can you expand on that? Whilst I agree with Obsidian that this may not be the right arena to seek solace it does have a remarkable ability to seek out facts ( maybe due to its inate cynicism). At the very least to pose objective and subjective views on events.

| TV would probably ban her for tarnishing their reputation or affecting their sponsors business. Ajarn would seem a logical choice, but maybe she doesn't know of it? |

| Well why we are at it - how many accidental electrocutions end lives in Thailand? Happens on a routine basis because crap installation, and non-existent or ignored building codes. I buy accidental more so because infrastructure for the most part is rubbish. |
