BANGKOK, 24 May 2019 (NNT) - The Ministry of Labour has been promoting employment in local communities through campaigns, which have helped establishing a community air conditioner repair center in Roi Et at which staff are certified from national occupational skills test.
The community air conditioner repair center in Poparn sibdistrict, Muang district, Roi Et province, has been in operation as part of the Ministry of Labour’s campaign to solve occupational issues, with the objectives to improve skills among informal labours, enhancing the productivity among workers in the area. The center has provided training for household and small commercial air conditioning unit repairs, with trainees passing the level 1 certification from indoors electrician occupational skills test, enabling them to further receive evaluation on indoors electrician which will allow them to work as electrician in buildings.
The Ministry of Labour Deputy Permanent Secretary Suradej Waleeittikul who has been observing the campaign said the community air conditioner repairers who passed the national occupational skills test have proven themselves that they can take care of members in their community, being good role models for volunteerism, while the ministry will further develop the center into a learning center for the community and other agencies.
