BANGKOK, 21 April 2019 (NNT) - The Department of Community Development has held an OTOP to the Town event, attending big suburban shopping malls and inviting the general public to shop for quality products that help distribute wealth to local communities.


The OTOP TO THE TOWN event is being held at Future Park Rangsit shopping mall in Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani, on the theme "upgrading OTOP and Thai wisdom to the city. The campaign included 10 OTOP to the Town events in other big shopping malls in Bangkok and major provinces in various regions, with this event at Future Park Rangsit being the final one in the program.


The Department of Community Development Director General Nisit Chansomwong revealed today that the past nine events have generated 68 million baht in revenue which could help create more opportunities, occupations, and income, as well as strengthening grassroots economies, paving the way for sustainable community development.


The 10th and final event at Future Park, which is one of the 10 biggest shopping malls in Thailand, is designed to attract people traveling into Bangkok. The event is taking place from today until 23rd April 2019. The event also feature the exhibition and sale of 3-5 star OTOP products from 150 shops, mini-concert performances, and lucky draws.
