Tax I think is scouting out a rest home somewhere near Grimthorpetwatside as we write.
sweating it out in bkk at the moment before heading off to the clean aired wide open spaces of yorkshire next week until the autumn.
i hope rest homes are a long way off, although one really never knows.
still enjoying your retirement amongst the russian pimps, chinese expectorators, feral englishmen, arab arsebandits and the bandy legged flat footed thai gobblers that you alarmingly co exist with?
Well done. Have a safe trip although it seems a form of kevlar undergarment might be a useful addition to one's travelling trousseau when bound for Blighty these days.
We continue to languish in relative pleasant seclusion here in deepest Wongamat which remains an oasis of decency amid the mire of filth, degradation and stupidity that constitutes life in Pattaya, and of course to a lesser extent that applies to most of Thailand.
We are considering options and reviewing alternatives but life here continues to be too congenial to forsake easily . As you know, it is a package and despite the myriad faults and incorrigible foolishness it is difficult to quit and find something elsewhere that offers the same that is also a good billet for the wingman.
We are considering taking a rental in Bangers to achieve a better balance and with an annual trip back to Blighty this seems a good way to go. I do like England but in truth after a week of cold, wet and windy weather, half- deserted pubs selling over-priced formulaic micro-waved pap, dull skies and dreary townscapes that are so homogenised one could be in Anytown, and a countryside that is locked in for a long winter of inertia, I'm offski.
And its pissing down again now
thats about the sum of it. life in thailand is just so easy and convenient and the idiocy one sees here is just as often on show in the uk, and according to the germans, norwegians and french that we have been hanging out with over the past four months, their lives are similarly afflicted with incidents of incompetence by tradespeople and officials on a regular basis.Quote:

and by the way, they all to a person wish that their countries, well apart from norway, had the balls to hold an in out referendum on the EU. they know we will get screwed one way or another by the EU but know that within a few years the UK will be better off out. they wish us well and hope that they get the chance to vote on it too..... and these are not the sort of tattooed lower end oiks that you like to troll are the ones responsible for the ongoing clusterfuck.
it will certainly be good to get back to some proper weather again after four months of interminable sunshine, blue skies and 90 degree heat. this mornings short shower in bangkok was a glorious diversion from the boredom that is thai "cool season" weather. it is a great pity that the thai rainy season with its spectacular downpours, cloud formations and electrical storms does not coincide with the british winter.
thankfully mrs. t has always been very comfortable in england, she appreciates the orderliness of things, the choices available, the cleanliness, the countryside and its accessibility, the friendliness of people, the rights she has there as a british citizen and she enjoys decent pub grub as well as european food and is as happy in pullovers and coats as she is in shorts and t shirts.
i think the "wingman" might need a little "trousers down six of the best" treatment in order to help her see clearly that blighty can be a jolly good billet once you've set your mind to it, at least for 6 months of the year :)
^^ No... but the scooter might be shortly:)

Still no rain here...
Selfish c**ts!
I've been Pattaya heaps of times during downpours, but I've never seen anything like that.
But my time there was 5+ years ago ... has it gotten worse recently?
Amazing photo Dill.
How much rain caused that?
I hope you found shelter in a decent, or better, an indecent Bar :)
Screw air pollution up north, I wonder what the ppm value of HIV is floating around in that porn soup - jeezus
It's gods plan for washing the filth off the planet :)
Pattaya's will be floated out to sea and sunk, amen.:wank::crucified:
Haven't bothered to check how many were lost in the underpass!
^ sounds about right
I should imagine given the inability of the virus to live outside a host the chance of encountering it in a communicable state is as likely as you having a coherent thought resembling anything other than that required to sustain the automatic reflex action of your anal sphincter where you seem to store your cerebellum.
You truly are a repulsive creature.
Oops Pattaya can say good bye to part of its newly inaugurated beach...looks like they spend a lot of money to refurbish the beach without planning water catchment . It's already bad that rain and waste water get to the sea, but discharging water on the sand was bound to create some erosion and ruin the new beach...
Its now like this in about a dozen places along the beach

Indeed Dillinger, this is what we said would happen when the monsoon floods and storms arrived. The budget for this was huge.
Thailand, and why it will never, ever improve.
