    General Election

Elections slated for February 24th, unless it isn't..?

BANGKOK (Reuters) - There will be no delays to a general election planned in Thailand for 2019, the deputy prime minister said on Wednesday, amid the concerns of government critics and the opposition that it could be pushed back.

The military government, which came to power after a 2014 coup, has promised to hold an election between February and May next year, following repeated delays on the grounds of constitutional and legislative steps needed ahead of a vote.

Further military entrenchment needed in the constitution.

Pretty much covered. However, official coronation of Rama X must be held before election. No date set yet.

The one year mourning period has passed, so it should be soon.

And yet, this technicality hasn't been discussed or referenced at all.

Nonetheless, I'm expecting a wag-the-dog scenario, coup, counter coup, or a counter counter coup regardless of election outcome.......especially, if the favour doesn't side with the current ruling theatre.

They know they don't stand a chance without their forced upon bans and strategic manipulation. The Junta parties aren't even close to the increasing majority popularity that 3-4 political sides enjoy.

Few seem to truly understand that nothing positive will ever come about until the traditional power circles are thoroughly removed from the political/social landscape.

    Otherwise.....it's just a continuing show.

Drain the swamp! Works in some countries but way too many very big crocs here. All backed up by an army of crocs having explicit and implicit permission to recapture the swamp.

Whenever I've seen swamps drained a bit through drought or whatever the crocs tend to get a bit agitated.
I remember travelling with a small group of Rangers from our community, Yarralin (google it), in the NT to sort out a stranded salty that had found itself land locked off of the Vic river.
It was a good 3.5 meters and desperate. The blokes tried to tie it down with a view to transporting to free water but there was no way. The creature was in desperate straights.
    The blokes shot it dead.
    Harsh but fair.
