RANONG, 21 August 2018 (NNT) - Ranong is another of Thailand's provinces affected by landslides after further downpours. Blocked roads remain impassable.

Traffic has been closed on a section of Phetchakasem Road near the Punyaban waterfall due to the landslides. Provincial highway officers are using backhoes and excavators to clear mud from the road and dredge water channels in the area. Earthen dykes are being built to prevent land from sliding onto the roads. The officials are working around the clock to clear the road.

In Nan, on Tuesday military officers from the Armed Forces Development Command helped villagers and monks clean areas affected by flash floods which occurred many days ago.

Medical personnel from a sub-district health promotion hospital and Tha Wang Pha Hospital traveled to the flood-affected areas to provide advice and medicine to the local people.
