    Tuk-tuk taxi in Ayutthaya can be paid for with QR Code

    AYUTTHAYA, 23 June 2018 (NNT) – Tuk-tuk taxi in Ayutthaya can now be paid for by scanning a Quick Response (QR) code.

    Ayutthaya Chief District Officer Somsak Charoenphaithoon presided over the launch of the project for installing QR Code on the tricycle tuk-tuk.

    He joined Krung Thai Bank Assistant Managing Director Peeti Thanawat in releasing a parade of tuk-tuk taxi to encourage people to experience Krung Thai QR Code to create a cashless society at Krung Thai Bank, Ayutthaya branch.

    There are over 200 tuk-tuk units with QR Code servicing tourists in Ayutthaya.

    Everyone pays everything here using the wechat app and the QR code. From the vegetable sellers at the market to the bus. The supermarket, it's everywhere. I shit you not there was one of those semi beggar types out here the other day playing a bad harp with a hat out and a QR code dangling around his neck.
