Chachoengsao waste separation plant found to be operating without a license

CHACHOENGSAO, 7th June 2018 (NNT) – Military personnel, local administrators and industrial officials are carrying out inspections of waste separation facilities in Chachoengsao and have found one factory that has operated for over five years without a license.

Royal Thai Army Infantry 11 personnel, have provided support to Khlong Udomcholjorn Sub-District administrators and Chachoengsao industrial officials in the inspection of recycling plants. A check of one such facility utilizing a two rai plot found that it had been operating for over five years without proper authorization. The plant, operated by Komdech Dhammathongsiri, also included structures built without permission.

The factory has also piled up electronic waste and recyclables in public space outside its structures. Administrators have ordered that entry to the plot and its buildings be barred and has begun legal proceedings against Komdech, bringing charges of illegal structural additions and pollution of a public space.

Industrial officials are looking into the legal ramifications of the plant so that they may also take action. The officials have also urged residents of the area seen transporting waste to the facility to stop the practice.

Dept of Industrial Works cracks down on unauthorized importation of electronic waste

CHACHOENGSAO, 13th June 2018 (NNT) - The Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) has visited Chachoengsao province to inspect factories that have been processing imported electronic waste without the proper permits. Authorities will check whether the hazardous waste has been returned to the original licensed factories and collect groundwater samples for contamination testing.

WMD Thai Recycling Limited is located in Plaeng Yao district and is licensed to conduct only domestic electronic waste separation. However, authorities recently found it had been processing waste imported by JPS Metal Group International Limited.

DIW Director-General Mongkol Pruekwatana, today led local officials to visit WMD Thai Recycling and follow up on its compliance with the order to return the imported waste to JPS Metal Group International. Officials also collected water samples at the factory to test for contamination and possible impact on the environment.

Currently, seven factories in Thailand have been granted an import license for electronic waste. However, recent inspections discovered that five of the licensed factories have been forwarding their imported waste to unlicensed processing plants. The DIW has since suspended the licenses of the five factories and ordered them to recall any waste transported to unlicensed plants.

FFS. This country would operate much more efficiently if all the stuffed shirts stuck to their desks and didn't seek photo ops every time a case was in the bag.
Every time, every fvcken time, something is newsworthy (or not), they have to spend tax-payer's money to turn up and ponce around and be seen to be the brains of the operation.
    Insecure corrupt stuffed shirts.
