PHANGNGA, 18 May 2018 (NNT) – Thailand's Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports has taken part in the press announcement for “Pun Tam Amphur Jai, Ke Kai Style Phangnga”, which is being held in the lead up to “L'Etape THAILAND by Le Tour De France 2018”.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports, Santi Pawai, joined Deputy Governor of Phangnga, Chansak Tawin, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phangnga Office, Weerawan Saengchan, and Executive of SS Quick Company, Sumet Jaturapitpornpong, to announce “Pun Tam Amphur Jai, Ke Kai Style Phangnga”, a biking event set to take place at Dino Sea World Park in Takuatoong district of Phangnga.

Santi explained that sports tourism helps to stimulate economic activity while also promoting healthy living, which is why many groups have realized the importance of his ministry’s Sport for all/Tourism for all policy.

The Deputy Provincial Governor remarked that “Pun Tam Amphur Jai, Ke Kai Style Phangnga” is a joint event organised by the provincial authority and Dino Sea World Park and is being held to promote interest in cycling ahead of the world class event “L'Etape THAILAND by Le Tour De France 2018”, being hosted in Phangnga.

Weerawan said that her office is using the activity to promote Phangnga as a high potential tourism destination ahead of the Green Season.

The Dino Sea World Park executive added that the biking competition is in line with the park’s aim to reach Sport Tourism, Eco Tourism, Go Green, Family Holiday and Retreat travelers. The park is developing new tourism products as well as ways to give back to society, which is why the event will also include donations to eight schools along the cycling route.

“Pun Tam Amphur Jai, Ke Kai Style Phangnga” includes a 56 kilometer professional category and a 40 kilometer Fun Race.

The event takes place on July 1, 2018 and will include the a sale of local products and a concert by BNK48.
