BANGKOK, 17 May 2018 (NNT) - The Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) has extended the application period for high school students to apply to a university via the online TCAS system until May 19th after the website crashed.

According to CUPT Chairman, Suchatchawee Suwansawat, the TCAS site has already been restored and high school students will be given until this Saturday to submit an online application for a direct university entrance exam.

This is the 3rd time Mattayom 6 students are being given the opportunity to apply for the exam. The first two rounds went well without any problems. The CUPT Chairman attributed the crash to the number of users.

The TCAS, which stands for Thai University Central Admission System, is being used for the first time this year to prevent students from reserving their places at two or more universities at the same time. Multiple reservations have blocked eligible studentsí access to available university places in the past.

The 3rd round of the TCAS is also accepting applications for university programs that produce graduates with skills currently in high demand in the 10 targeted industries.
