Govt to address issue of unregistered hotels

BANGKOK, 15th May 2018 (NNT) - The government has confirmed that it will address pleas by hoteliers to crackdown on unregistered hotels.

Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda revealed today that there remain thousands of unregistered hotels in operation across the country. He confirmed that the government is in the process of bringing them into the system.

Meanwhile, a recent poll by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) revealed that the public has not seen any progress from the government's reform policies over the past four years. Gen Anupong responded to the survey results by confirming that the government has continued to mobilize national reform policies. He urged the media to publicize information of the government's work.

Don't know which government agency is running the hotel crack down, but they, government has been comming down on unlicensed businesses along the 4428 highway, Cambodia/ Lao border.

Some resorts, more no tell, motel places and a lot of cassava, rubber buyers, plus some 2 pump gas stations and small shops.
They even closed a Sri Trang cup rubber buying station [ billion US dollar company] have to say they only rented the site.

Seems, if you can believe the locals, all about planning permission, taxes, no VAT, no company registered and no taxes being paid.

The west is coming, big brother is here and you will pay your share of tax, know 2 farangs that have been closed down, not that they care, outside income, but still a lot of money down the tube on a dream.
