BANGKOK, 13th May 2018 (NNT) – The Department of Local Administration (DLA) is inviting people to donate used mobile phones for proper recycling.

The proceeds will be used to purchase books and teaching materials for the child development centers in need throughout Thailand.

DLA Director-General Suttiphong Chulcharoen and Nanmee Books Co., Ltd. disclosed that this is a pilot project for managing the problematic household electronic waste and promoting public awareness of waste separation.

Interested persons can donate their used mobile phones at local administrative organizations nationwide from tomorrow until June 15th, 2018.

The department aims to collect at least three million used mobile phones. The proceeds will be used to purchase books and teaching materials for 2,000 child development centers in remote areas nationwide to cultivate the love for reading among children and to improve their reading skills.
