I'm really struggling here. A bunch of foreigners visiting Thailand have paid a fee in order to have sex with each other privately in a hotel. In a town which has 20,000 whores working in hundreds of whore beerbars, clip joints and gogo bars, In a country with over a million prostitutes and thousands of brothels. Where there are hundreds of massage joints and bath houses offering sexual services galore all for profit. And they are arrested and paraded in public because it is a " crime"?
Thos county gets more preposterous by the day.
In the Sodomites exclusive Gomorrah community, called Pattaya, eh?
Spot-on there Seekingasylum.

FYI ~ There is no asylum to be found. Especially when you're dealing with the likes of pretentious, constipated puritans. This OP topic thread smells of a farang snitcher (in the mix), rather than a local Thai,

Hardly an environment of romance.
Probability suggests at least one future bride & groom amongst that lot
Can't see where the crime is.
I'm guessing the 14 girls were paid by the hotel @ say 1000 baht each. The guys paid 1500, so with 11 guys, the hotel makes 5500 for hiring out the room. Not bad. Not great, but it's money.
Chinese bloke doesn't look that stressed
BANGKOK, 22nd April 2018 (NNT) – The Deputy Spokesman of the Royal Thai Police (RTP) disclosed that the police chief had ordered strict and continuous crackdowns on foreign mafia gangsters following a raid on the group sex party in Pattaya on Saturday night.
RTP Deputy Spokesman Col Krissana Phatthanacharoen said police had cracked down on a sex party held by a Chinese man in Pattaya, Chon Buri over the weekend.
All suspects, both Thais and foreigners, have been arrested and prosecuted as it affects the country’s images, he said.
He went on to say that Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the police chief, has always emphasized the policy to prevent crimes, especially transnational crimes and to seriously and continually crack down on foreign criminal gangsters.

Sex swingers in Pattaya: Participants let go with a warning but hotel faces 18 million baht fine
Picture: Sanook
The 28 Thai and foreign participants at a sex swingers party raided in Pattaya were mostly let go.
One Filipino was found to be on drugs and one person was overstaying their visa but the others had their records taken and were released without charge.
Earlier videos had shown tourist, immigration and local police and soldiers under the direction of Banglamung district chief Naris Niramaiwong and Pattaya station chief Apichai Krobpetch raiding the property on Pratumnak Hill.
Embarrassed participants were rounded up covered in towels and sheets to protect their identities. Condoms and lubricants were shown.
Participants were from the US, Canada, Ukraine, Pakistan, Singapore, the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand reported Sanook yesterday.
Owner 53 year old Serngchai from China is facing charges of operating a hotel without a licence and running a lewd event for profit.
Three staff are being charged as accessories.
The hotel owner can do jail time of up to a year and be fined 20,000 baht. But he faces shelling out 18 million baht which is 10,000 a day for every day of the five years he has been in operation.
I don't understand where this hotel is. The news article says it's on Pratumnak in Sth Pattaya (how could they screw that up, they had a news team on-site FFS) but people here are saying it's on the Darkside....
Ok I've never been into the swinging scene but isn't the object of that game watching your partner get it on with a total stranger, while you do the same to someone else's partner?. Not seeing where swinging comes into it if all the girls were just random barfines, rather than all being one half of couples. In any case and has been pointed out, arresting couples having consensual sex in a closed door environment is ludicrous, more so as this happened in Pattaya.
I've been unavailable for commenting on this thread as I was ...err...busy. Glad to see we...well I meant they have been released with a warning.
Pb is the hotel charged for the event, making it look like a prostitution ring (especially if the girls were hired and not half of an attending couple).
By looking what happens on nearby streets, it seems that authorities are more lenient when prostitution is a one on one thing (consensual activity were the prostitute can decide to go on not to go with an interested customer)
^ what's PB? WILSON said it was the Yaka Hotel earlier?
Theres a Pradamnak road on the Darkside but I cant find a Ban Tulip hotel thats mentioned in the op
