Australian drug kingpin to be extradited after more than a year in Bangkok prison

A Sydney man accused of overseeing a multi-million dollar Australian drug syndicate is set to be extradited from Thailand seven years after skipping bail in South Australia.

Robert Gordon Pollybank Gee, 60, has been held in a Bangkok prison since he was arrested at a bar on the Thai resort island of Phuket in 2016.

Seven years after fleeing the country while on bail, Robert Gordon Pollybank Gee is set to be extradited back to Australia. Photo: Crime StoppersAustralian Federal Police said Gee fled to Thailand after being granted bail on a $10,000 surety.

He was allowed to keep his passport despite facing serious drugs charges relating to a 2006 South Australian police operation codenamed Crunch.

The operation recovered cocaine and methamphetamines worth $1.2 million and $264,000 in cash.

Thai authorities said when Gee was arrested in Phuket he was in possession of a fake Canadian passport.
Gee had been listed as among Australia’s most wanted suspects.

A Thai court agreed to an Australian request to extradite Gee because his alleged crimes in Thailand did not involve politics or military-related activities.

Leave him in a Bangkok gaol. Australian gaols are luxury in comparison.

An Australian and a Briton sentenced to decades in a Thai jail for drug dealing have lost an appeal to have their term reduced, their legal team has told the Guardian. Jake Mastroianni, 26, a DJ from Melbourne in Victoria, will serve two life sentences and Lance Whitmore, 28, are serving 50 years in Thai prison.

I pray that you two young lads get the same compassion as this guy and are extradited back to your home countries to serve the remainder of your sentences. Amen
