Burned and dismembered body found near a reservoir in Phichit

    January 20, 2018 | By Thai PBS

The burned and dismembered body, believed to be a man, was found in the bushes near a reservoir in Bung Na Rang district of Phichit province on Friday (Jan 19).

A police team, led by Pol Maj-Gen Thawatchai Muannara, the commander of Phichit provincial police, rushed to the crime scene in Ban Bung Tapchan, Village 3 of Tambon Laem Rangyoo, after they were alerted by villagers of the finding of the human body.

Police said that old car tyres which were used to burn the dismembered body were still smoldering when they arrived at the scene. The victim’s right leg with a tattoo was also found at the scene and the police believed this could help them to identify the victim.

The body was cut in halves and burned beyond recognition, but police believed the victim was a man because of its big size. Coins of different currencies were found burned at the scene.

The police also found what was believed to be the leftover of a luggage which was suspected to be used to stuff the victim’s dismembered body. The luggage was also burned.
Police said that the burning of the body was intended to cover up the crime.

Pol Maj-Gen Thawatchai said he was told by villagers near the crime scene that they saw a black sedan driving toward the reservoir and later leaving. They added that they eventually saw smoke billowing from the bushes near the reservoir.

He said he had ordered police to check all the CCTV cameras along the routes leading to the reservoir to try to track down the perpetrators’ car. Police were also told to look for announcements of missing persons.

Pol Col Ekkachai Sathienmaneechak, superintendent of Bung Narang police station called on those who have information about a person who has such tattoo on the right leg (see main photo) to contact him at 081-8526347.

He either operated a business that took some money away from another business.

Started a relationship with a woman/man that previously dumped a lover.

Refused to pay the extra 1 baht when the gas station attendant put in 1,001 baht.

Coins of different currencies and that leg tattoo, almost definitely a foreigner and not elderly.
Very clumsy attempt at burning the evidence....mind you, according to ENT it only takes a bit of brushwood to totally incinerate a body. There's fools everywhere.

So, if there are no missing persons reports, a Thai wife may be involved?

Burned, dismembered body of Italian man found in Thailand

Investigators trying to track down ex wife, lover

    Redazione ANSA
    BANGKOK
    22 January 2018

(ANSA) - Bangkok, January 22 - Thai police said Monday that the body of man that was found dismembered after being set alight three days ago is that of Italian national Giuseppe De Stefani.

Police in the Thai province of Phichit managed to identify the victim thanks to a tattoo on a partially burned leg that a witness said belonged to the 62-year-old native of the northern town of Sondrio. The authorities are trying to track down Stefani's 38-year-old ex wife, Thai national Rujira Eiumlamai, and her French lover, the details of whom were not given.

Manhunt launched for a Thai woman and her French boyfriend suspected of involvement in murder of an Italian

    January 22, 2018 | By Thai PBS

Police in Phicit province have launched a hunt for the Thai wife of an elderly Italian whose severed body was burned in a bonfire of car tyres near a reservoir in Bung Narang district of Phicit on January 19.

Pol Maj-Gen Thawatchai Muannara, commander of Phichit provincial police, said Monday that police were looking for Mrs Rujira Iam-lamai, wife of 61-year old Giuseppe De Stefani, and her new boyfriend, a Frenchman identified by police as Mr Hamouri.

He said Mrs Rujira had run away with Hamouri as they were seen travelling in a Toyota Yaris.

He added that police had found a letter written by the Italian man at his house which read as follows: “You said you love me because you just want the money. I have never seen anyone as bad as you.”

Pol Maj-Gen Thawatchai said Phichit and tourist police had been gathering evidence at the crime scene and at the house of the victim to be submitted to the Forensic Science Institute for examination.

He expected arrest warrants to be issued soon for Mrs Rujira, her French boyfriend and other accomplices – if there are any – when police receive a report from the Forensic Science Institute.

As for Hamouri, it was reported that he has been declared a persona non grata by the Immigration Bureau.

Stefani’s severed body was burned beyond recognition except for the blurred tattoo in his body which matched with that of Mr Stefani who was reported to have gone missing from home.

A copy of this letter should be supplied to the Italian Embassy to give to all incoming Italian men, along with the crime scene photos.

    Except the poor ones.
