BANGKOK, 12 January 2018 (NNT) - The Department of Disease Control (DDC) has confirmed that the Rotavirus vaccine is safe.

DDC Deputy Director General Assadang Ruayajin dismissed news reports in social media that the Rotavirus vaccine is dangerous to patients and confirmed that the Rotavirus vaccine is safe and efficient.

It has been registered by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and used in Thailand on young children for more than 10 years.

The National List of Essential Medicine Development Subcommittee is considering including the Rotavirus vaccine in the National List of Essential Medicine.

He warned against the consumption of food left-over for more than four hours after cooking, saying that it should be reheated before consumption.
