Family with crying child ordered off bus late at night

    Bangkok post

    9 Jan 2018
    WRITER: Online Reporters

The crew of an interprovincial bus have been fined and may face further action for forcing a poor family and their two young sons off the bus late at night because the 2-year-old kept crying loudly. Sanit Promwong, director-general of the Land Transport Department, told Thairath Online on Tuesday that the two bus drivers and the bus attendant were fined 5,000 baht. They had offended the passengers and violated the land transport law, he said.

The family was travelling on a Bangkok-Koh Samui bus operated by the state-run Transport Co. They were ordered off the bus in Cha-am district, Phetchaburi province, late on Sunday night. Further disciplinary action was being considered, and the family would be compensated for the extra costs incurred for accommodation and onward transport, Mr Sanit said.

Bus attendant Wanchai Kaeocharoen reportedly said he told the family get off because the boy had cried continuously from Samut Sakhon province onward. Neither the other passengers nor the relief driver could sleep and some foreigners had complained. He had the family leave the bus at a petrol station in Cha-am district where there was a hotel and a passenger van stand. The place was not deserted, he said.

Mongkol Thongboran, the father, said his family was from Prachin Buri province and were travelling to Koh Samui in Surat Thani province to take up a job.
His family had four bags with them and two young children and were made to leave the bus. He had 500 baht and after paying for accommodation had only 25 baht left. He had to ask a relative to transfer money to him before they could continue to Koh Samui.

He said his son had cried for only about 30 minutes and foreign passengers had talked to him and understood his explanation that his young son was afraid as it was his first long trip. If the bus had waited for 5-10 minutes at the petrol station, his son could have been taken from it. He would have quickly calmed down and been ready to board the bus again, Mr Mongkol said

Wow I asked they do the same on the plane to Bangkok but they wouldn't listen ...

More seriously he was very accommodating to let himself and his family get thrown out of a bus... He paid the fare, hadn't sufficient funds to get a room and eat...I think I would have told the drivers to go F themselves behind the station, stating that when they will be both finished, the baby may be quieter, if not calmed down well "shit happens" and that doesn't give them the right to leave him unless they refund the the full price...

It's terrible thing, being unable to afford a too.

I once had to make do with an 'in addition' on a trip to Krabi.

Fixed shit up right there Eh.

But anyway, if ya have ever been on a plane and had some plebs kid screaming for hours on end ya can sympathize with the other coonts on that bus.

This cry me a river shit cuts both ways.

I crack up when I see Thai people wearing T Shirts that say something with Fuck on it. I saw a gal that walking out of 7/11 that said Fuck Yeah on it. It was in big Block letters. Classic stuff.

As for the Crying baby. The couple should have given the little runt a clank of Lao Kao.

Ha ha . That is so fitting .
    Let me explain.
The T-shirt is a word play on the Japanese fashion label "Comme des garcons" which means "like boys" in English, fitting that the coach driver didnt like the boy in question .
And its a word play on the T-shirt, written as *Comme de fuck down* (calm the fuck down) , which the coach driver didnt do..
Now, isnt that T-Shirt fitting for the occasion

We were all screaming brats once, some still are, tragic for the poor family left penniless far from home maybe ok as a single fellow but with 2 babies.
As to the comments about the lady they saw more about those who mock than some obviously very poor folks, travelling to get a job.

Fair play to the bus firm at least they acknowledged the fault.

I used to wish there was a calm oasis on planes and why minted never complained, then I discovered the upgrades the lounges , it's liking a boost from TD to TV

When I've enough heir miles I look forwward to meeting our members up the pointy end

Maybe the kid wouldn't stand for the national anthem, so FLAKE sorted it out?

If I were on that bus going to Ko Samui for a holiday, and my kid was crying, there is no way that I would have gotton off that bus .
I would have left him at the service station and picked him up on the way back

Hardly the kid or familys fault.

Maybe the backpackers who also complained were Israelis

No, It couldnt have been Jews who complained , if Jews were on the bus, they would have eaten the babies , ripped their limbs off and eaten them for a late night snack, whether they were crying or not, you know what Jews are like.

I was just stating that they probably were not Israelis, replying to your suggestion that they may have been

I was just stereotyping the type of tourists who would risk this mobile deathtrap all the way to Samui, and the type who would be the first to complain should the ride not meet their high standards. Ok they could have been any nationality but I don't like Israeli backpacker types, so I chose them.

He has an excuse now, we are on his ignore list

Outrageous example of poor parenting skills and idiotic customer services.

Babies only cry if they are hungry, tired or have shit themselves.

Whoever kicked them off the bus has been badly trained and needs a good kickin.

tbf I was once on a 1am flight out of Tenerife after a week on the booze and I'm sure I'm not the only one on board that would have gladly toe punted the screaming brat in row 26 into the stratosphere if the emergency doors would open at that altitude.. 4 hours of the screaming little bastard and nobody slept a wink

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Some Children suffer on aeroplanes, because they cannot equalise , equalise the pressure from the atmosphere to themselves, like scuba divers . Giving children a drink on aeroplane causes equalisation

Years ago whilst returning from up-country I was on a train for six hours during which time a child of five ran up and down the compartment showing off its new pair of novelty shoes which squeaked and flashed red LED lights with every step.

Nearest I have ever been to murder but as all of us entered into a weird fugue of utter exhaustion and agonies of futile bone-aching stoicism restraining tattered, screeching nerve endings, I eventually succumbed and elbowed it in the face as I feigned to get up. It was one of the most deliciously rewarding moments of my life when the little cvunt ran crying to its mother and woke the selfish bitch up.

Children should be sedated and stowed away in some compartment or other, preparatory to long journeys on public transport.
