NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 21 December 2017 (NNT) -Highway authorities in Nakhon Ratchasima province are gearing up to accommodate tourists ahead of the New Year holidays.

Director of Nakhonratchasima 3 Highway District Chakkrit Boonruangsri announced that traffic management preparations are now underway to accommodate greater road traffic from December 28th to January 3rd.

The director said his office is responsible for managing traffic on 16 roads, adding that Highways 304 and 24 are the two most congested roadways during the holidays.

Therefore, the office will open a special lane on the outbound side of Highway 304 to allow incoming vehicles to avoid poor road conditions between the 234th and 235th kilometer markers. Holidaymakers are encouraged to check their vehicles before hitting the road. Anyone in need of emergency roadside assistance can call the hotline 1586.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of the Phrae Provincial Police Pol Maj Sanlaphat Prabphutthacha deployed a group of police officers, soldiers and civilian volunteers to various locations in the province to prevent crime and accommodate motorists arriving from other regions.
