BANGKOK, 12th December 2017 (NNT) - A new museum has been officially opened in northeaster Loei Province.

Members of the scattered Tai Dam ethic group from Thailand, Vietnam and Australia gathered on Monday at Ban Na Pa Nat in Tambon Khao Kaew of Chiang Khan District to take part in the official opening ceremony of the Tai Dam Museum.

The museum has actually been operational since 2012 and is known as the place where old and new utensils, items used in daily life and clothes worn by Tai Dam people have been on display in that time.

The exhibition aims to help members of the public learn about the origins of ethnic Tai Dam people, who are known to have migrated to Thailand during the reign of King Rama I.

The Tai Dam Museum in Chiang Khan District is noted as the only one of its kind in the Northeast, where tourists have often been drawn to learn about their history.

Each year, there are more than 50,000 people registered as visitors to this museum during their time in Chiang Khan District.
