The site said it was a มีดอีโต้ which is the long and large knife you see being used every day by fruit vendors to split open coconuts etc. One slash of that across your arm will cause a very nasty gash.
The Aussie Brit was not defending himself- he ran to the back of his car to grab the knife , then ran towards the Thai guy and his car. None of that was necessary.
Regarding giving the Thai guy time to move- watch the video on the previous page, Coconuts site- the Aussie/Brit jumps into his car and immediately moves forward, trying to run over the Thai guy. The Thai guy has no time to move.

If the old man had done what he did to you would you have king hit him or sucker punched him?
Even if the man was out of order, which he was can you really justify the actions of the young fit fella?
It was totally unnecessary regardless of what had transpired previously.

Whilst I agree TIT but one would hope that the young fella is punished for his attack which could so easily killed the old bloke. Just my view.
