Taobao marketplace products will soon be available in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand
China’s Alibaba is connecting sellers on its marketplace to an even larger swath of the globe, as partner Lazada announced Monday expansion of Taobao offerings into three of Southeast Asia’s biggest markets.
Selected products will soon be available in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand, Reuters reports, following the launch in Malaysia and Singapore earlier this year.
Alibaba increased its stake in the Singapore-based Lazada to 83% in June.
Amazon’s delayed launch into Southeast Asia finally happened in July, where its Prime Now quick delivery service represents its sole presence in the region.
