Outlaw Bikers Terrorise Brit Bar Owner

Anyone following this story up in Surin? Sorry im not able to post a link but it has been widely reported.
The jist of the story is that the British owner of the Monkey House Bar barred a local member of the Outlaws MC biker gang. Apparently this biker used to get pissed and pick fights with other customers.
The bikers then opened a bar directly across the road called the Crossed Pistons and are now trying to force this Brit and his Thai wife out of business. Last week they smashed up his business and put him in hospital. The local cops are not interested as the bikers are apparently quite generous with donations to the police benevolent fund.
It must be a shit situation for anyone to be in. Does he sell up and go or just ride it out and hope the problem goes away.

Surin bar owner from UK attacked by foreign biker gang in turf war violence

A well known foreign sports bar owner had 18 stitches in mouth and head wounds after a group of Outlaw bikers attacked him and others in the “Monkey House” in Surin.
Lee Buil needed hospital treatment and is now recovering from the trouble that started Friday then continued on into Saturday.
Lee, 57, from Hull was formerly known in Pattaya Soi 7 and has been in Thailand for about twenty years.
He said that Surin is usually a peaceful place but a bunch of Outlaws have recently opened a bar called Cross Pistons.
He said the bikers came into the Monkey House on Friday to intimidate people.
“They only wanted trouble and we didn’t serve them”, Lee told Thaivisa. “Then on Saturday they came back and had a go at me, throwing everything in sight at me”.
He said they were using cues, bottles and what he termed as an “asp” – an extending telescopic truncheon used by police in the UK amongst others.
Lee was a policeman between 1976 and 1979. Later he ran a windscreen company.
Extensive damage was done to the bar – around 60,000 baht – and girls were harassed, he said.
The story has been reported on the BBC and other foreign news media including in the USA.
“Someone had to take a stand, “said Lee who said that now the story has been featured widely on Facebook the police and army are involved in bringing the foreign biker gang to justice.
“Since it broke on Facebook they are on the case big style,” he said.
Earlier his wife had gone on Facebook to complain about police inactivity.
Lee said that all the Outlaw gang members were foreigners, no Thais were involved.

That's easier said than done. if you have invested lot of money building up your business and buying a home you can't just up and leave it. The chances are the wife's family probably come from Surin as well. By all accounts the Brit is very popular in the area but obviously none of his buddies fancy taking on a biker gang.

I've been through countless posts on Thai visa about this and there has not been any mention of their nationality. The you tube video doing the rounds of them smashing up his bar shows they are white. The Outlaws top dog in Asia was killed in the Philliphines last month in a bike smash. He was German and used to own Tity Twister bar in Pattaya

My guess is it can only escalate, the longer he stays the more face they lose even as whities. As for the "Protect the Peace" RTP, they're doing no more than expected.

Quite a lot of these scumbags around SEA. They are here money-laundering through cash businesses like bars, strip joints, etc.

Lots of money laundering in Thailand. Do you think all these Indian tailors shops are there just to sell suits

I was speaking to a Scottish member of Mad Dogs MC in Pattaya yesterday afternoon who ive worked with offshore a couple of times. He was telling me that the gossip on the biker grapevine is that some of this mob are apparently from the Outlaws chapter that tried to take over Nana Plaza about 3 years ago. Not sure how they ended up in Surin but they are involved with boiler rooms and that sort of thing. This particular incident in Surin was a local petty dispute that got out of hand.....my opinion is that a bike gang who declare war on a middle aged man and his wife are a bunch of fucking pussies...of course i didnt say that to my Mad dog friend
