An army captain has been summoned by Si Sa Ket provincial police for questioning after investigation linked him to have involvement in the disappearance of a 37-year-old female officer at a local administration organisation in Kantharalak district.
Ms Juthaporn Oun-orn, 37, an educational officer of Cham Tambon Administration Organisation (TAO) in Kantharalak district, went missing since July 3 after driving her daughter to nursery school.
Her silver Toyota Vios car with Chiang Mai licence plate was later found at a garage in Ubon Ratchathani province.
Investigation by police showed that the car ownership was transferred three times to three persons.
Questioning of the new owners indicated the army captain with close association to her was involved in the transfer.
The officer whose name was withheld by the police is attached to the Second Battalion of the Sixth Infantry Regiment at the Sappasitprasong army barrack in Ubon Ratchathani province.
Si Sa Ket police commander Pol Maj Gen Suradet Denkham said the army captain was summoned after investigation found that the educational official transferred hundreds of thousand baht cash from her account to the army officer’s bank account before she went missing.
While she was unaccounted for, she also contacted relatives to transfer money to his account several times, he said.
Colleagues at the Cham TAO office said she had no conflict with friends and colleagues, while her father Boonlert said he didn’t know the army captain.
He urged anybody who have information about his daughter’s whereabouts to contact the police as she is the key supporter of the family.
