Army officer summoned for questioning over disappearance of a TAO official

An army captain has been summoned by Si Sa Ket provincial police for questioning after investigation linked him to have involvement in the disappearance of a 37-year-old female officer at a local administration organisation in Kantharalak district.

Ms Juthaporn Oun-orn, 37, an educational officer of Cham Tambon Administration Organisation (TAO) in Kantharalak district, went missing since July 3 after driving her daughter to nursery school.

Her silver Toyota Vios car with Chiang Mai licence plate was later found at a garage in Ubon Ratchathani province.

Investigation by police showed that the car ownership was transferred three times to three persons.

Questioning of the new owners indicated the army captain with close association to her was involved in the transfer.

The officer whose name was withheld by the police is attached to the Second Battalion of the Sixth Infantry Regiment at the Sappasitprasong army barrack in Ubon Ratchathani province.

Si Sa Ket police commander Pol Maj Gen Suradet Denkham said the army captain was summoned after investigation found that the educational official transferred hundreds of thousand baht cash from her account to the army officer’s bank account before she went missing.

While she was unaccounted for, she also contacted relatives to transfer money to his account several times, he said.

Colleagues at the Cham TAO office said she had no conflict with friends and colleagues, while her father Boonlert said he didn’t know the army captain.

He urged anybody who have information about his daughter’s whereabouts to contact the police as she is the key supporter of the family.

    Army captain denies abduction charge

An Army captain wanted by Si Sa Ket provincial police for abduction charge yesterday (Aug 11) denied any knowledge of the disappearance of a Tambon Administration Organisation (TAO) female official.

The officer, Capt Supachai Paso, commander of the Second Rifle Platoon of the Second Infantry Battalion at Sanpasitprasong barracks in Ubon Ratchathani, denied the abduction of Ms Jutaporn Oun-orn, 37, an education official at Cham Tambon Administration Organisation in Si Sa Ket when he reported to police summons yesterday.

The police charged him of illegal detention and abduction of the woman after investigation showed she transferred money to his accounts several times before she disappeared on July 3 this year after driving her daughter to kindergarten school.

The army captain said he would defend the charge in the court.

He was later freed upon detention agreement between the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Thai Police on military suspect in criminal offences.

Si Sa Ket police continued to search for the missing TAO official at the area bordering Cambodia in Namyuen district of Ubon Ratchathani after her last mobile phone signal was detected here on July 17.

Her close colleague told police that she chatted with Jutaporn on Line application but was suspicious because she could not answer questions about details of her responsible jobs.

The person on the Line might not be Jutaporn but used her account and impersonate as her, she said.

Body found in minefield as noose tightens around former Army captain

AUTHORITIES ARE examining a human skull, bones and a civil servant uniform found on Monday near an Ubon Ratchathani military base, with suspicions that the remains might belong to Juthaporn Oun-on, 37, a Si Sa Ket-based local administration organisation official who had been missing since July 3.

Relatives and officials have been looking for her body in the “Emerald Triangle” forest area near the borders of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in Nam Yeun district, which is adjacent to the Phu Jongnayoy National Park where her cell phone signal was last detected.

Maybe they should investigate a bit further.
