Would have been better if he'd tripped and fell on the tracks just as the train.....

Why would they need to learn Thai to do missionary work in Uwanga Zuzu, Africa?

Online campaign to oust American YouTuber “My Mate Nate” is gaining momentum

    July 19, 2017

Online campaign to suspend the visa of American YouTuber Nathan Bartling, better known as “My Mate Nate” and oust him from Thailand now gained over 65,000 supporters within five days.

The online campaign followed widespread criticism of his prank videos in Thailand are considered inappropriate and a violation of Thai laws. The videos were uploaded on his My mate Nate YouTube channel which drew more than 3 million subscribers.

His latest stunt that drew outcry from the Thai public was a video clip featuring him flattening coins on the rail track. The State Railway of Thailand has already filed a complaint of property trespassing.

Although he would offer apology to the Thai societies, but public outcry remains.

Latest show of dissatisfaction of his behaviour is the online campaign by Pichaporn Araikul to oust him of the country.

She urged all people to join the online campaign by signing in to support the call for the government to suspend his visa and oust him out of the country immediately.

She accused Bartling of creating public unrest, disrespect of Thai laws, and committing inappropriate acts, including flattening coins on rail tracks, testing Thai people the use of English language, animal cruelty.

All these violations have been uploaded on the social media which is accessible to the public and could set bad examples for children and youths, and could have cultural impact, she said on her online campaign.

Pichaporn sets target of 75,000 supporters, but only five days after the online campaign was launched, over 65,000 people have signed in to support.

Meanwhile, the National Telecommunications and Broadcasting Commission yesterday held a meeting with internet service providers for cooperation in requesting Facebook and YouTube to block an additional 3,000 inappropriate URLs within August 7 after having earlier asked them to block 6,900 URLs.

The national regulator is prepared to issue regulation governing the dissemination of information on popular social media websites such as Facebook and YouTube.

Kids a turd but I'm failing to see what the big deal is about some coins taped to a train track & run over.

Saw a vid of some serious faced Thai man sitting at a desk trying to spin it like he's gonna knock a train off the track ffs.

Those coins are the last thing the thai train authority need to worry about.

Seems to me a bunch of thais all butt hurt over some idiot doing stupid shit like how dare him do such a thing.

    Retards, retards everywhere.

‘My Mate Nate’ fined Bt5,000 for railway coin stunt

    July 19, 2017 18:47 By Kornkamon Aksorndej

YouTube prankster and celebrity seeker Nate Bartling, also known on Facebook as “My Mate Nate”, has been fined Bt5,000 for placing coins on a railway track in Prawes district and allowing a train to run over them. He recorded the incident for a video clip in which he said he was trying to determine which coins were the strongest. State Railway of Thailand (SRT) officials filed charges with Prawes police against Bartling, 24, and his friend, Nut Weerotai, 23, who also appeared in the clip. The SRT alleged that the pair had trespassed on its property. Pol Colonel Alongkorn Sirisongkram, of Prawes police station, said that Bartling and Nut met police as summonsed to acknowledge the charges.

They were found guilty of several charges concerning acts shown in the video clip, Alongkorn said, adding that the Bt5,000 levied on both Bartling and his friend was for a breach of a law prohibiting anyone from placing things on a public byway that could create obstacles to safety and traffic. “The fine of Bt5,000 is the maximum, so that young people will not try to copy or repeat it,” Alongkorn said. Alongkorn said he also informed Bartling that he faced a charge of animal cruelty arising from another of his video clips that showed a cat fighting with a scorpion. Bartling is alleged to have organised and recorded the fight, then posted the video clip on his Facebook page. Many cat lovers sought police action against him, alleging animal cruelty. More than 120,000 people have also signed a petition to have him arrested. Alongkorn quoted Bartling as saying that he did not organise the fight. “He said that when he returned home, he saw the cat fighting with the scorpion. He said he may have been wrong to video the fight but after that, he took the cat to see a vet who found that it was not injured.” The punishment for animal cruelty is a jail term of two years, a fine of not more than Bt40,000 or both. A representative of a cat lovers’ group met police at the station and insisted that they further investigate the matter, as the group was concerned that others would imitate Bartling’s actions. Police have about 20 days to collect information about the alleged animal cruelty. Bartling was freed temporarily as he came to see police of his own accord, officers said.
