BMA to impose regulation and control of street food quality on Silom and Rama IV road

The Bangkok Metropolitan Admistration (BMA) will soon impose regulations and control of street food quality on Silom and Rama IV after having applied them with Khao San and Yaowaraj roads.

Mr Wallop Suwandee, chairman of the advisory board of the Bangkok governor, said the two new zones for hygienic street food control will be on Convent Road from Saint Joseph Convent School to Silom Road, and at Saphan Luang on Rama IV Road.

Street food vendors must meet hygienic and sanitary practice requirement same as those vendors on Khao San and Yaowaraj.

They have to undergo two-day training on hygienic and sanitary practice and must also pass examination before getting QR codes to facilitate retroactive checks of their practices.

Besides, vendors need to get health checks certified by doctor twice a year.

He said BMA has enforced the hygienic and sanitary practice regulations with street food vendors on Yaowaraj road and has received good cooperation from street food operators.

It is now enforcing the regulations with food vendors on Khao San road although the number of vendors is not as many as on Yaowaraj.

He said vendors must not erect stalls on sidewalks, although on adjacent Rambutree road where vendors still erect stalls on sidewalks but this would be resolved soon.

It must be the year to pick on street food vendors. How many years have they been status quo?

    ^^ Utter tourist-bleat.

"street food" is bottom level shit, propped up by tourists going on about enjoying something their own societies outlaw, simply because it feels 'authentic' and somehow justifies the money they've spent travelling here.

No running water, uneducated vendors, leftovers refried again the next day in week old recycled palm oil, and running the chance of a roughly 5% likelihood of diarrhoea.

    Blimey.

Our globetrotting businessman has eaten street food in Thailand.

It's like finding out Joanna Lumley shops at poundland.

    Uneducated vendors?

Cooking is a learn by doing activity.

So where did that 5% figure come from, a guess?

    It is spelled diˇarˇrheˇa
    ˌdīəˈrēə/
    noun

Rick, spelling matters diddly on a forum where only sados proofread their posts before punching the submit button. Get to the point if you have one. As for 5%, there is no reliable statistic on how safe street food is. Care to produce a better one?

Rubbish. This is a final resort, if the local decides that the associated karma outways the financial gain potential of selling it the next day.

No, I was just curious how that number was arrived at since it would be a difficult number to determine. I was actually just making fun of the spelling fanatics at your expense. No harm meant.

Call me a mega Sado then.

My spelling is shocking, I always proof read what I write.

Damm it, often, after re-reading my post, I just simply hit the delete button.
