Traffic Police launches “Get Van Booking” application

BANGKOK, 20 March 2017 (NNT) - The Traffic Police Division has launched the “Get Van Booking” application to make people feel more confident in the public van service. Inter-provincial van booking can be made via the application.

The Traffic Police Division, in collaboration with the Anywhere To Go Company Limited, developed the application which helps passengers to book seats on public vans operating on more than 30 routes. The application can limit speed of the public van to be less than 120 kilometers/hour and allows passengers to report inappropriate behaviors of public van drivers.

The Traffic Police Division and the company are developing the “Get Van Driver” function to record information of public van drivers such as names, telephone numbers, driving license numbers, routes and driving hours. The information will be used in case of an accident.

Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Pol.Maj.Gen. Chiraphat Phumichit said the application was another way to decrease the waiting time for a public van especially during an important festival. Pol.Maj.Gen. Chiraphat said he had summoned public van entrepreneurs to learn how to use the application and use them to participate in the project.

The “Get Van Booking” application is available for the public for free on both android and iOS. The application is in Thai and English for both Thai people and foreign tourists.

FFS, if you're going to do it, do it right.
Public transport, large people-movers, busses, vans, and songteuw, should be at least 10 kph below the speed limit for normal cars, not 20 kph above the speed limit!

Don't know about BKK, but everywhere I drive is 50, sometimes 40 in the city, and 100, someplaces 90, out on the highway. According to the signs.

Maximum is 90 km unless otherwise indicated. So it can be 120km on a motorway.
