Woman's face melts off after jealous husband set her alight over Facebook ‘selfies’

Chatchawarn Tarrin, 28, had been married to Nednapha Nuankhu, 26, since January last year but became possessive and abusive months into the marriage.
His attack came after she posted three pictures on Facebook in December.
The mother-of-one tried to flee but Chatchawarn allegedly poured fuel on her then set her alight at their home in Amphoe Chiang Kham, northern Thailand.

Nednapha suffered horrific burns across her entire body and face – needing three emergency operations and several more in the coming months.
The 26-year-old has said she forgives her husband, who is awaiting sentencing, because she does not want her son to be affected.

She said: ‘He has scarred me on the outside and in my heart, too. But I have to forgive my husband because we have a child together.
‘When the fire was burning I felt like I knew that hell was real. It was the worst pain and terror anybody could ever imagine.
‘I’m like this now forever and I know that hell exists.

‘You can run away from anything but you cannot run away from karma. Nobody knew this would happen but some things we just cannot escape.
‘My husband will be full of sin and he will feel karma one day, too. Now my husband cannot run away from anything. He has been put in prison and he has a son that needs care and a father.’

Officers at the Chiang Kham police station have not told Nednapha when he will be sentenced and for how long.
A spokesman said: ‘This was a conjugal issue and it is currently being investigated so we can give the correct sentence.’
Friend Sudarat Khunarup took pictures of Nednapha to raise money for her medical care for bandages and treatment for the wounds including a skin graft.

Warning - Horrible after pictures in the link below.

    What the fuck man

This kinda shit happens a lot in Thailand. Just about a daily occurrence it seems like. Supremely jealous males that do absolutely horrible things to females because of a perceived insult to their manhood.

It really plays to the thought process of some of these people. Life experiences, culture, religion, upbringing, (FACE), all factor into the thought process of how someone comes to the conclusion that burning your wife alive, and horribly disfiguring her, is a rational idea for posting Facebook photos.

People say stuff like "This happens everywhere in the world" and "Thailand is no different" but its not that these things dont happen, its the frequency and how its handled in the end thats insane.

    I read this:

And it kinda implies that its more of a civil type affair and likely to end with a monetary transfer or slap-on-the-wrist jail term or both, or maybe even dropped if the wife wanted it to be, who knows.

The way the judicial scales are weighed in Thailand is a laughable tragedy, for a lot of people, a lot of the time, and will probably never change.

Agree, it's a very fukt up way of dealing with a very fukt up crime but this is a very fukt 2nd world country with an even more fukt up 3rd world legal system.
    The whole place is fukt.

So this typical Thai chickenhead jealous male Chartchawarn has dragged Thailand up to the same level as India Pakistan and Bangladesh to join the club of worldwide leaders in wife maiming abuse.

*tsk*...the deranged actions of one male don't represent a cultural norm any more than the subcontinental acid hurlers do...merely the self-indulgent (and self-righteous) behavior of deviant males who feel their dicks have been slapped...

No, but generalizations are what they are for a reason. There is a basis of truth.

Things happen with a higher frequency in some cultures, more than others, that make it a trait of the culture itself. Does that mean that everyone is like that? No, it does not. It means its common.

For example Thailands road fatalities and stupid drivers. Not everyone is a stupid driver, but it sure does happen with a frequency thats a hell of a lot higher than other countries.

Still applying the imaginary broad brush as a standard.
Common doesn't equate as an comparative absolute.

Especially, when such backward theories are superlatively culturally-centric.

    Doesn't hold water.
    Try again.

Clearly you guys are of the type that refuse to accept generalizations because a fickle moral reason, regardless of the fact that the generalization wouldn't exist without repetitive situation in the first place.
