Four killed over divorce dispute at Sai Noi district office

A man shot his estranged wife and a five-year old son to death before killing himself with his gun in front of the Sai Noi district office in Nonthaburi province on Friday.

The gunshots also killed the gunman’s father in law and one of his relatives who accompanied the couple to the district office.

It was reported that the gunman, Mr Surasak Deechaiyo and his estranged Common Law wife, Ms Wanawan Piyawong, accompanied by their five-year old son, Sukrit, and relatives from the two parties went to Sai Noi district office to ask for a divorce.

Surasak however refused to divorce and desperately tried to plead with Wanawan to abort the divorce plan, but she declined. Heated arguments broke out between the couple and, out of a sudden, Surasak drew out a pistol and opened fire at Mis Wannawan who was with their son and two other relatives.

Surasak, Ms Wannawan and their son were killed at the scene while Mr Thirapong, Wannawan’s father, was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the hospital.

^ that's one way to settle it I suppose
What an arse hole , poor kid got it also
You would think that there would have been a set of guidelines or procedures in place to check for weapons.
    Divorces are rarely civil

Such a tragic waste. The poor boy.

Even more of a waste as, as far as I am aware, except under very, very specific circumstances, a wife cannot divorce a husband without his permission.

She didn't even marry him in the first place! Why did she need to divorce?

Hmm. Indeed. The article says "common law wife". Confused?

Think the vast majority of marriages are more like common law ones - this is the village ceremony one, blessing by the monk etc.

The legal paperwork is sometimes followed up on, most times not.

The husband was in all probability consumed by jealousy at the real or imagined affair his wife may or may not of been having, and with his emotions and temper stretched to breaking point and exploding in childish and petulant confusion at losing control of the situation, not being able to get his own way and facing an imminent reputation shattering loss of face, the knuckle dragger resorted to the default chickenhead solution to an unsolvable conundrum ...... extreme and irreversable violence.

    Very sad indeed.

One of the most tragic and horrifying events, I've heard in 2017.

    RIP family.

That these folk are all armed and may also drive without any meaningful tuition or compliance with any known code or law of course makes their puerile and petulant behaviour all that more dangerous.
Truly, the most dangerous place not afflicted by civil commotion currently on the planet (well, unless one is a nigra living in Missouri that is).

Yep, an idiot armed with a toothpick is a real force to be reckoned with and known to slaughter any number of innocent bystanders. Fuck me, only the other day I saw an idiot septic picking his teeth in the restaurant without any safety precautions whatsoever. " Hey, you crazy asshole muthafucker !" says I, " Don't you know that toothpick is fucking loaded. You could have killed me!"

Tsk, fucking mofo septics, what can you do, eh?

    You fucking idiot.

The idiot owner of the gun was not being responsible, and allowed the child to have access. If the owner was not an idiot, that would have never happened.

People whine and cry about this, but in the same breath, Za, your country puts children on motorbikes and they die in the thousands every year, so again, if people were not IDIOTS things like this wouldn't happen.

Idiots are ALWAYS dangerous. Dangerous objects are a repeatable, known item with very little variables.

PEOPLE are the problem, not the gun, or motorbike.
