Drunk Monk Disrobed For Public Tantrum

    Asaree Thaitrakulpanich
    Khao Sod English

UDON THANI — A monk was disrobed Monday after he got drunk on moonshine and yelled at a number of farangs waiting at a bus station.

Ni-orn Saenmuangchin, from a forest temple in Udon Thani province, was pacing around the provincial bus terminal yelling at seated foreigners when police and military officers approached to see what was wrong.

Officers said the 51 year old reeked of alcohol as he told them his tale.

He was drunk then disrobed? So is he also being done for exposing himself?

yelled at a number of farangs waiting at a bus station.
Any farang who lives there deserves to be yelled at

And the public grovel on their knees to these shits.

“We investigated this monk, and it seems that he was often caught drinking and forced to leave the monkhood,” said Lt. Theerayothin Supsin of Udon Thani city police. “He would return to the monkhood again and again after drinking. This cycle happened three to four times.”
Who the fcuk vets monks? You can even be a monk if you've done time.

..or if one wishes to avoid legal/criminal prosecution. Some well known public figures have taken this route.

Monk title has lost credibility, say Kung fu student David Carradine in that old TV show. He check out in Bangkok in auto-erotica.

But its all good becoming a monk, do they offer real programs for offenders to rehabilitate and better themselves or is it all kneeling and chanting and hoping for the best?

Does the monk just smile to himself and think ''Yes! I've got away with this''

How else would they believe they are atoning for their sins in such a profound, positive way?

Last time I checked there are no government run rehabilitation courses or therapy.
Much like making merit, it just appears to be a cop out. Wanting the positive things fast without really putting any effort in.

There's a fellow I knew who joined some monk commune for that fasting thing, he went fifty days without food, I mean fifty days, no doubt thought he was Jaysus or something close.

Dropped to half his body weight and made inquiries how to become a monk and convert to get himself out of visa troubles. Not sure how it ended up.

I am prepared to be corrected, but is not the whole "atoning for their sins" a Christian concept?

Indeed, do Buddhists actually have the concept of "sin"?
