Australian Hells Angels pay off assault victims after Thai bingle bashing

Two Australian members of the Hells Angels will still face criminal charges, despite handing over compensation to the men they assaulted in Thailand.

    Key points:
    • Security footage shows three Australian men bashing a young Thai man
    • The Australians, two of whom are Hells Angels members, handed over money to the victims
    • Details of how the fight began are disputed, though it is believed the men hit a parked motorcycle with their car
Pattaya police said Daniel Anthony Stalley, 34 and John Lee, 43, handed themselves in at the weekend.

Security camera footage from 17 September shows three Australian men punching and kicking a young Thai man on the ground.

The graphic video shows one of the bikies holding the Thai man's head so the other attacker can kick him in the face.

But, like most things in Thailand, there are different versions of the events.

You can read them all here.

If it was the other way around, the Aussies being smacked by Thais, would the outcome have been the same?

Security camera footage from 17 September shows three Australian men punching and kicking a young Thai man on the ground.
From having only read the first few reports I picked up that the chronology was:

1: Car hits a parked scooter.
2: 2 Thai boys chase after the car to get at the person/people inside.
3: They get to the car. It contains 4 Hells Angels.
4: The Thai boys run away, get caught, get given a few kicks.
    5. They were farang, so the 2 Thai boys go crying to the Thai police.

Yep, that seems to sum up the possible alternative quite well.

One event, two perspectives ... maybe only 1 is factual.

The News report goes on what the 'official police' report reflects ... which is maybe a 'Thai perspective', and most of us know what that potentially means.

Hey, Mr Luigi ... you're up late!

^ Chilling out watching some 90s music vids, chatting up some chicks online, keeping up to date with Nasa's Europa announcement, going to take the Lil Luigietta to the zoo tomorrow. Will try not to knock over any scooters.

    Short little runts, but stocky.

How come paying compensation means charges dropped if it is a Thai compensator but not for these guys? They should have got a lawyer.

Nonetheless, I have no sympathy for them. Both sides of the story seem to agree that they boys hit a motocycle and drove away. Footage shows horrendous bully-boy violence. There's 2 factors that for me say, fuck 'em, they made their bed, they can sleep in it.

What happened to the Thai's "Good guys in, bad guys out" campaign? These clowns would not be a great loss to the expat community.

The stupidity of the forum knows no limits. The mongol ockers are up for the extortion not least because they are not legitimate in any sense of the word other than perhaps as low grade lumpen thugs with access to significant funds.

They should have used the services of the usual liaison chappie in these circumstances but I should imagine their prehensile stupidity hampered any decision making and they decided to go it alone.....

^True. As for the the guy who's shoe blew-out (and his tribe of runners who won the fight by a few hundred meters) the chances of them all enjoying the 150k Baht and bragging forever about how they fucked over the Hells Angels are somewhere between slim and none.

This has happened to me. A drunk Thai clipped my bike while pulling his car out which in turn knocked 2 more bikes over. I gave chase on foot but no chance. The barmaid got his license plate and the cops were called. The cops informed us they knew who the guy was and that they were looking for him. That was the last we heard of the matter. I wonder how much he paid them. Deserves a beating if you ask me. [at][at][at][at].
