Normally one announces one's wedding either before the ceremony to invite guests or the day after in the society pages if one is so inclined.

Waiting two years is like a non event, except for publicity seekers.

What two individuals do in private is non of my concern either way. But the look-at-me I'm a poofter stuff does get a bit irksome. Then again I also don't care which coffee people had this morning or what their cat did last night.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all

I think the point is that all the bloke did was reveal that he got married, but the angry, latent homosexuals are all squealing (strangely enough like camp, gay people) about gay pride parades.

    Strange, eh?

The fact that he felt compelled to keep it a secret says a lot.

If he had announced that he had wed his long-time girlfriend in secret two years ago nobody would have batted an eye-lid.

That's one of the very reasons there is 'look-at-me I'm a poofter' stuff to begin with.

Exactly ! better still come and join up with us normal people as we march through Brighton this weekend in our normal hetero parade blowing our whistles as we march through all the mincers
You guys have a rather odd perspective.

Dude announces that he married in secret at a private ceremony some years ago and you've somehow managed to re-imagine that as some massive gay pride event that inexplicably intruded upon and disturbed your own 'normal' lives.
This is right. Consider too that he's a celebrity. I would imagine if, say, a fairly popular hetero DJ married secretly and much later let slip or casually mentioned he or she has been married for a while, that there would be a bit of a stir in social media. I doubt he or she would be condemned for it though, being hetero.
And that's the point of the OP: Why should a gay be teased and insulted because he got married?

To start a family is normally a good reason.
More than half of Westerners don't do that, they have kids then maybe get married.

Both the rate of divorce and marriage have declined remarkably in recent years.

    Exactly -
he felt shame about his skin crawlingly filthy condition,
showing the gay demon / virus has non taken over him completely, and there is still a slight hope he may be cured one day, that or a moment of lucidity will cause him to quickly take his own life before homosexualty regains control of him .

There are three certainties in this world: death; taxes; and that blue will make an appearance on any thread with even the merest hint of homosexuality in order to rally against his own internalized feelings of same-sex attraction and the self-loathing it causes him.

^Can I quote meself? yeah, fuck it...

Umm... I got nothing against gays... no ill feeling towards them at all - complete indifference really.. I wish them happiness as I do everyone decent.

It doesn't impact my life - or my ass... so I don't mind. Good on the 2 guys. God bless their union.

    (fucking faggots)

Hey! What does a gay man and an ambulance have in common? They both get loaded from the rear and go whoo-whoo!

Considering how many Thai males are, or appear to be gay, it's a wonder they haven't sucked themselves into extinction, or gone off the cliff at the end of Hershey Highway.

No, it's not homophobia, it's just that a man who sticks his dick up another man's asshole is a sick motherfucker.

    Couldn't agree more!

But when you speak like normal bloke, it tends to upset those who haven't figured which side of the fence they sit on.

Too much plastic and BPA, otherwise.

People should be free to engage with anybody they want, I don't feel threatened by gay people, they are not waiting for any occasions to get the bum of any straight man they see... If some people think so, maybe they should peek at the mirror in the bathroom more often...no gay is hiding in the shadow to get at you, relax!
As it's the case for straight people , it's hard to find the right person to build a serious relationship, they don't need to raise the ante by trying to turn straight man...

For Bob to be that upset he must be raging like that Orlando shooter about his past ass-reaming exploits and his inability to control his queer urges.

I don't know why he told it on TV, maybe he knew the new was about to be leaked ? or because he was bored to keep it secret? or bringing some water to your mill : it's part of the LGBT strategy to take over the world ?

Anyway the guy took some heat for unveiling his secret, would the same thing happen if he was a "nobody"? And also, I'm not sure people would criticise them face to face, it's easier to be a keyboard warrior or to gossip in their backs...

Thankfully being homosexual is not a genetic predisposition, but triggered by a hormonal imbalance during gestation, otherwise gay's would be selectively breeding all over the place.

There's currently no scientific consensus on the specific factors that influence sexuality but I guess they can stop researching now that it has been definitively and authoratively established here, on a Thai forum, by a septegenrian Google Expert on Everything.

    Fantastic.

I have a theory that the most rabid of homophobes is subconsciously compensating for his self-loathed latent homosexuality. He's been taught from on early age to fear and loath homosexuals, and so when his pubescent subconscious realises that he is himself what he was taught to despise, he reacts with hatred and OTT criticism.

Statistically, one in ten is homosexual, so, with no known gays in this conversation but every chance that there is at least one or two, I can only assume who the homosexuals are (based on the above theory)
Come on guys, get with the times and come out. Embrace your inner gay.
I won't hold it against you, and in fact you'll rise in my estimation.

    septuagenarian

True, there's no final consensus on which hormones and how much they play a part in gender development and preference, but on balance, the evidence (read widely) indicates that too much androgen during gestation will cause females to choose male roles and toys as they develop.

A surfeit of adrenalin during gestation will block sufficient testosterone uptake for normal foetal development, causing the neonate to develop in a more gracile manner and tend towards enjoying more feminine pastimes than their more robust male counterparts.

Higher than normal adrenalin levels in the mother during gestation results from higher than normal stress levels at the time, the adrenalin blocking normal levels of testosterone uptake by the foetus.
