UTHAI THANI, 27 June 2016, (NNT) - Uthai Thani Provincial Fisheries Office is on the look out for illegal fishing, as the province is imposing a fishing ban from now until the middle of September.

The office has dispatched officials to conduct security patrols in Uthai Thani waters, including along Sakae Krang and Chao Phraya rivers, the two locations that are prone to illegal fishing.

Those who violate the regulation will be punished, in accordance with the Fisheries Act B.E. 2015.

In the initial patrols, the officials did not find any violators. They said those living near the rivers and fishermen in the area are giving their full cooperation since the ban commenced.
