ONCB launches drug-detecting operation at Suvarnabhumi airport

BANGKOK, 11 April 2016 (NNT) – The Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) launched the operation ''Safe Songkran Without Drugs'' at Suvarnabhumi international airport.

The operation, jointly opened by Narumol Chuangrangsri, deputy ONCB secretary general, Jirut Wisanchit, deputy director general of the Department of Land Transport, and Sirote Duangrat, director of Suvarnabhumi international airport, calls for detection for drugs in urines of public-vehicle drivers at Suvarnabhumi airport to reduce risks of road accidents during Songkran festival.

The deputy ONCB secretary general said that the agency will encourage Songkran travelers to never accept anything from strangers who might possibly be suspected drug dealers.
