Overstayer Seriously Injured In Pattaya Jail

Man in Hospital After Suffering Injuries in Pattaya Jail

    04 March

In the early hours of Friday, a 47-year-old Frenchman was badly injured whilst incarcerated at Pattaya Police Station. It appeared he had been assaulted although Police claim he collapsed and was injured as he suffered convulsions.

The Frenchman France was arrested in the morning of March 3 in front of Fifth Jomtien Hotel.

He was accused of possessing an expired visa in his Passport.

While in custody, the Frenchman obtained physical trauma across his entire body. He was sent to Bang Lamung Hospital for medical attention. Police investigated the incident to determine the source of his ailments. They concluded that he began convulsing and sustained the injuries after falling to the ground.

    The case continues.

At least he didn't accidentally fall on a garden hoe held by a 'Burmese' migrant.

I daresay something has been lost in translation but I would have thought any meaningful diagnosis would have to come from qualified medical staff. Sometimes the police do make mistakes here. I recall the motorcyclist who sustained head injuries after failing to stop at a police checkpoint which were first attributed to his road crash but were later found by an examining doctor to have been caused by a 9 mm bullet discharged by one of the policemen........

Easy mistake to make, I suppose.

Depends who your in-laws are. If they're military, I'd like to see how that one pans out.
