Thais warned of mercury plunging by up to 10 degrees

The Meteorological Department Saturday warned residents of the Northeast and other regions to brace themselves for a sharp drop in temperature starting Saturday night.

In its morning daily forecast, the department said a high pressure from China has moved down to cover the Northeast and will later expand to cover the upper Thailand.

The high pressure will lead to a sharp cold spell and a drop of temperature between six to 10 Celsius degrees.

The drop will start in the Northeast and later happen in other regions until Monday.

The mercury drop will follow thundershowers and strong wind.

The nights are already cooler here in Surin..a nice 10 degree drop from Day-time and Night-Time temperatures.
A further drop is always welcome

No sign of it yet in Ubon. Bring it on- it's been a warm 'winter', I'm still sweating half the time.

The cold snap in Bkk has been particularly piss poor this year.

It lasted maybe 7 days in total where it hit 24.

Next week on the road again to the Mekong , hope it fookin snows.

I'm in Nakhon Phanom for the weekend. Cold and windy, with a strong gusty breeze coming in across the Mekong from Laos now. A maximum high of 14 celcius is forecast for tomorrow :/

Well never in BKK will it ever hit 14 DEG but up North in Winter 14 Deg it can be a warm sunny day.

But for only a very short time mind you. Night time it's fokin freezing in the Mountains.

The North is fookin brilliant in winter.

Once they start burning though it's fooked.

    About now innit.

    Roi Et, I believe.

Around the Mun River flood plain - where Roi Et, Surin, and Sisaket join.
