Captain Samroeng Chanso, deputy chief of staff of the RTN’s first regional command, said the Vietnamese fishing boat was fishing about 27 nautical miles of the Kood island which is within Thai economic zone waters.
Found on board the vessel were several poisonous sea snakes and squids.
The boat skipper told RTN officers that they fished in the Thai waters for squids and, particularly, poisonous sea snakes which can fetch between 500-1,000 baht apiece.
The seized fishing boat was later escorted to naval base at Sattahip while the four crew members were later handed over to the police.
