CHIANG MAI - On the night of October 15, police arrested three suspects in connection with a violent attack involving a knife when a man and his friends walked past a gang of teenagers on bikes on the iron bridge.
The group who were attacked told police they were approached by a teenager around 170cm tall who attacked one of the victims with a knife before a gang of youths began beating up his friends. The group managed to escape but with serious injuries.
A few hours later the police arrived to the scene and were able to trace the perpetrators. Police arrested three suspects, a 17-year-old boy (name withheld) who then gave information to police about two others involved; 24-year-old Pet Puk-aon and 22-year-old Charatrerk Patchattang.
The two other suspects were found in the Nong Hoi and Wat Gate areas in the early morning.
The 17-year-old boy admitted to attacking the man with a 40cm knife, which was handed over to police as evidence.
The investigation continues and the three arrested await prosecution. The victims are recovering from their injuries.
