The Department of Special Investigation has asked for the extradition from the United States of Nen Kham, a rogue monk wanted in Thailand for multiple charges ranging from sexual assault on underaged girls to public fraud and violations of computer law.
Pol Lt-Col Pong-in Intharakhao, deputy director-general of the DSI, said Wednesday that the DSI had followed all the necessary procedure regarding extradition and had submitted the case to the Office of the Attorney-General to pursue the extradition bid.
The above remarks by the DSI deputy chief followed a video clip in the social media showing Nen Kham or Mr Veeraphol Sookphol planning to open a monastery in the US.
Pol Lt-Col Pong-in said he was confident that Nen Kham would be sent back to stand trial.
