That's very impressive, even by Thai standards.

That is impressive. Saw six go down in a windstorm near the old place in Mae Taeng and they all snapped right at the ground like those in the post. Those poles are tall so a darn good moment arm.

Just when you though that the Thai road traffic accident rate couldn't get any more absurd one of them raises the bar even higher!

I wonder now if it's going to be the next big competition...the most poles/cars ratio.

it is not just about the hole - poles have feelings too

it happens on the west also - poles not braced at correct spacings and one goes and the whole lot fall

Meanwhile, back to reality in the LoS the explanation for this farce is of course corruption in which the contractors and the budget holder have trousered so much of the dosh there wasn't sufficient left to complete the work properly.

Public works in this country are nothing short of a disgrace which probably accounts for the fact that most urban areas are stinking, dangerous shitholes prone to flooding and collapse.

Compared to the accident rate repair bill I'd say it'd pay for itself.

And now they'll get a second windfall from having to do it again.

    Quite intelligent really.

Pocket so much cash that it will have to be redone in the near future. Where you'll be able to pocket some more. Win win.

The only loser is somchai the nobody who gets a concrete pole on his head causing his braincell to fallout through his nose, or plunge into a 3 meter sinkhole and have to reach for his nasal stick to figure out what happened.

With a miniscule search one can find things like

Construction accident in Ridgefield, New Jersey, topples power lines, utility poles | 7online.com

But it happens in Thailand and all the bigoted pundits jump on the Thais are rubbish band wagon.

Still if one is bored here with nothing else to make one's day meaningful...?
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
