You needn't apply the highly evolved and uptight Western ideals to everything Thai, Cy.
    It doesn't work here.

Christ I thought I'd read just about everything idiotic possible - now is somebody trying to suggest that an owner letting their pit bull wander down the street is not complicit in any shit that goes down?

Has nothing to do with how they're raised and such environment - the fact remains that this particular breed's DNA is schizophrenic and unstable [bred to fight] - turning on anything without cause.

Pseudo I did, but I like to give people a chance to show that they're not always as stupid as they make out. What ever you do don't start about Israel's 'Pitbulls'

The owner said it had just cause. "Gee wizz schucks, the poodle looked at him funny, so I guess, OMG, you know, he had to die" or something like that as you would expect from the types who keeps these dogs.

Anyone who owns a dog bred to fight is really just compensating for their own inferiority

Agreed. And one good thing about sharks is that none of them try to chase my bike.

The UKC gives this description of the characteristics of the American Pit Bull Terrier:
The essential characteristics of the American Pit Bull Terrier are strength, confidence, and zest for life. This breed is eager to please and brimming over with enthusiasm. APBTs make excellent family companions and have always been noted for their love of children. Because most APBTs exhibit some level of dog aggression and because of its powerful physique, the APBT requires an owner who will carefully socialize and obedience train the dog. The breed’s natural agility makes it one of the most capable canine climbers so good fencing is a must for this breed. The APBT is not the best choice for a guard dog since they are extremely friendly, even with strangers. Aggressive behavior toward humans is uncharacteristic of the breed and highly undesirable. This breed does very well in performance events because of its high level of intelligence and its willingness to work
    Enough said.

I've spent the last two weeks cycling past a rotty who's just pushing his natural territorial instincts a bit fucking far.

Maybe it'll be 'national news' next week.

Probably not because the fucker has bitten me though, right?

    All dogs need responsible owners.

I hope but don't really believe the cops will be aware that not all dogs are just dogs

Especially if there's that heady folding scent in the air.

Unfortunately the statistics say otherwise, just the USA and just so far this year, and don't say it's the owner fault it's not- it's the dogs doing the killing.

In the 10-year period from 2005 to 2014, pit bulls killed 203 Americans and accounted for 62% of the total recorded deaths (326). Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers accounted for 74% of these deaths

I think it's pretty much on how ANY dog is raised that says how the dog will react in any situation. I do have to say though that I had a crossbreed dingo when I lived in Australia and I couldn't stop him from killing anything that wandered onto the property or the neighbors chickens. I ended up letting the neighbors kill the mutt (without the wife at that time knowing about it) It just couldn't get the HUNT out of himself is all I can figure.

It was always bringing chickens and wallabies and stuffing them under our house. I didn't blame the neighbors.

Mine had up to five poodles, three of them puppies, and two chihuahuas for company. Protected them like a mom.

Nobody mentioned yet that the beaten and stabbed Pit was a puppy just over half a year old. A small playful dog of maybe 40 pounds.
