Koh Samui - Germans mans wife shot to death

    Woman shot dead at office
    By Supapong Chaolan

The wife of a German real estate businessman in this resort island in Surat Thani was gunned down in broad daylight yesterday. The 38-year-old woman, identified as Ananya Klongklaew, was shot three times in the chest and shoulder. She died on the way to hospital.

Ananya was married to Norbert Verweyen, a 58-year-old German national, who runs multi-million-baht housing estates and land development projects on the popular southern resort island of Koh Samui.
Police said the gunman, wearing a black jacket and a helmet arrived on a motorcycle and parked outside the office where Ananya was working. He walked in, called Ananya's name and shot her three time when she responded. The assailant then fled on his motorcycle, police said.

^Wouldn't be surprised if the killing has got nothing to do with property business but everything to do with money.
Norbert has had a couple of wifes before the one now shot dead.

    https://teakdoor.com/thailand-news/34...g-new-car.html

old news and may not be the same person.

Man hunt underway for German suspect who failed to stop at a Police Checkpoint and who dumped his brand new car and escaped on foot.

An interesting case now from Banglamung Police Station. A Police Checkpoint was set up in Nongprue sub-district on Wednesday Night and it wasn’t long until officers were called into action when a Black BMW 7 series car failed to stop. A chase ensued and officers failed to locate the car again until it was too late.

The abandoned car was found near a government building and inside was a Thai woman who explained that the owner of the car had fled carrying two bags. Back at the Police Station, the owner of the car was found to be Mr. Norbet from Germany and the woman, Khun Anchallee aged 30 was found to be carrying 1 ½ Yabba Tablets which she claimed was given to her by the German man without her knowledge. She also explained that he would make frequent trips between Pattaya and Koh Samui.

The fact that he was happy to dump this expensive car so he could escape with the two bags suggests he may have been in possession of items of considerable value which he did not want officers to see such as narcotics. The hunt is now on for the German suspect and all ports and airports have been informed to detain this man should he attempt to leave the country. Khun Anchallee is continuing to help Police with their enquiry.

Seems that no one is ever found in these cases. Is there anywhere that have statistics on the amount of foreigners killed by their Thai wifes, always seems to be a story regarding wifes killing off husbands for their cash

KOH SAMUI / DEVELOPER'S WIFE MURDERED

    Slain woman received threat

    SUPAPONG CHAOLAN

Koh Samui _ The recent murder of Ananya Klongkaew, wife of a German property developer, might be linked to a dispute with clients on Koh Samui, the resort island's police chief Chaiyuth Nilwong said yesterday.

Pol Col Chaiyuth said Ananya was a blunt-speaking person, which could also have contributed to her death.

Pol Lt Patiwat Khunrung, who is handling the case, said the gunman clearly targeted Ananya, since the staff around her were not harmed.

Police have interrogated three staff members who witnessed the murder.

Five more witnesses will be called in for a detailed description of the killer.

A source said that one day before she was killed, Ananya, along with two security guards, went to court over a lawsuit against a housing estate customer.

Later that night, she received a death threat by fax, the source said. The message was typed in English. Police are tracing the fax number.

Ananya was married to Norbert Verweyen, a 58-year-old German national, who runs multi-million-baht housing estate and land development projects on the popular resort island.

I am also interested to know a little bit more about this story and the man in question. Any locals here that can fill in the gaps?

Norbert is still on Samui? Or was, it appears. Bizarre. Gotta refresh my memory on that jerk and which slum farang villas he had.

^ Right! Coconut Land and House. The development in Bang Po was falling apart 10 years ago. But Herbie's shenanigans were no worse than the druggies that run Zen Prop.
