Hanging oneself with one's hands tied behind one's back does beat falling off a 50m cliff then drowning without any other injuries, I suppose.
Koh Tao 2014/15, Amazing Thailand.
You could quite easily tie your own hands behind your back using three of those plastic strips that are used to bond wires and pipes together .
Put one end in the slot and pull and it fastens
RIP, now quarantine the island to prevent further infections,
Yeah, but that was the name of the door...Originally Posted by blue

French man found hanged in Koh Tao with his hands tied behind his back ? foul play suspected - Samui Times
The photo was important to show the circumstances , type of rope and knot
Look at the hands where the black cord is, very very likely someone has tied them. Unless he has a jaw of steel there's no way you could tighten then by the teeth to that extent:
That suicide note, it was written in French, not Thinglish, yes?Police and rescue workers found a note on the man’s bed...
The sort of farang chap who hits Koh Tao in his late twenties is not really in the profile for suicide over a bimbette or his auld grannie.
This is so fucking stupid it's painful. The Happyness (sic) people have simply not permitted another murder enquiry. Thai are really quite disgraceful. One hopes the Scotland Yard chappie sent by Cameron has been informed of this little nonsense. It may well assist him in providing context for his report.

Must agree on this one, Tao is certainly not the place that inspires one to top ones self.
Why is this Frenchman's death on the Sept 15 established murder thread? If there is a correlation other than locale, let's examine it on another thread, please.

The UK Coroners Inquest will proceed on January 6th regardless of what stage the Thai courts are at, and the case is adjourned until July.
I have to add, it was not the court that rejected the police case numerous times, but the prosecutor who requested "clarifications."

Many suspicious questions have not been answered in this case. We all knew that Sean was directly involved with real killers. However he chose to cover up the truth and allows Thai police set up all incidents to protect mastermind. We can only prey one day, Sean will come out with real confession which will cause huge change on Koh Toh..
Heres a report from

it seems they have more class than Teakdoor;

Police have declared the death of a Frenchman found hanging from a ceiling in his room on Koh Tao a suicide.
The body of Dimitri Povse, 29, was found hanging from a ceiling at the balcony of his room at Ta Chin Bungalow on Koh Tao last Thursday. His hands were loosely tied behind his back.
Police said there were no signs of a fight or a struggle. There was suicide note on his bed that said, in French, “Iris, I love you. Suicide seems easy but it is actually difficult.”
Povse’s friends claimed they had gone out with him to a bar called Next Door on New Year's Eve until 5am before moving to Experience Party and staying there until 11am. His friends returned to their guesthouses, leaving him drinking alone.
Police and physicians carried out an autopsy and believe that the cause of death was asphyxiation. The case is being treated as a suicide.
Lt. Gen. Somsak Noorod, Phangan police commander, said authorities have questioned many witnesses but did not find a motive for homicide.
Friends of Povse said he was interested in a foreign woman on Koh Tao, but it was unrequited.
Somsak added that since Povse’s hands were only loosely tied, he may have inserted his hands into the rope just before committing suicide.
The French Embassy has been notified of his death, Thai PBS reported.
Those hands seem to be tied very tight not loose.

Under Rule 25(4) a Coroner must adjourn an inquest and notify the DPP if during the course of the inquest, it appears to the Coroner that the death of the deceased is likely to have been due to a homicide offence and that a person may be charged in relation to the offence.
Suspect the same is true of a potential homicide abroad. How can anyone be expected to promulgate a finding until the judiciary has completed proceedings? It will be opened and immediately adjourned.
