TAK, 16 August 2014 (NNT) Police in northern Tak province have made progress in an investigation into the clashes between forest rangers and poachers, in which one officer was killed and another was injured.
A joint police-military team in Tak province has retrieved a number of carcasses while on a manhunt for poachers responsible for the gunning down of a forest ranger.
The operation, which was also participated in by officers from the Royal Forest Department in Tak, was launched after the deadly skirmishes in the Nam Tok Pacharoen National Park on August 13.
Three poachers, wanted by authorities, are said to be hill tribes' men constantly hunting in the areas.
So far, the manhunt operations have found the head of a gaur and carcasses of wild animals as well as firearms and ammunition that are believed to belong to the poachers who are still hiding in the woods.
