Biscuit thief, 12, 'beaten to death' in Indian village court

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has allegedly been beaten to death at an Indian village court, after a shopkeeper accused him of stealing biscuits.
The incident took place at Thadi village in eastern Bihar’s Purnia district on Sunday, Gulf News reports.
Local merchant Ajay Yadav accused two boys, Pintu Kumar, 13, and Chhotu Kumar, 12, of stealing from his shop on Friday night, and a village court was hastily convened.
At the court, the children confessed to the theft and were ordered to be hung upside down and beaten in the presence of the 'judges'.
The boys were stripped of their clothes and beaten severely. Chhotu died as a result of his injuries and Pintu was severely injured.
Pleas from the boys' parents for the court to show mercy were met with a demand to pay a fine of 10,000 rupees ($182). The parents are said to have agreed, seeking an extension of two days to pay the penalty, which the court declined.
Local police are seeking eight people in connection with the events. "The incident is quite serious as the villagers have taken law into their hands. We are not going to spare any of them," the local district superintendent of police Ajit Kumar Satyarthi said.
According to Superintendent Satyarthi, the children had stolen a few packets of biscuits, some chewing tobacco and petty cash.

What sort of sentence is that for anybody? Let alone kids who have done a bit of shoplifting? People like those "judges" are unspeakable.

^agree. This local 'authority figures' are often fuked up powercrazed lunatics. This is yet another horrible horrible story of nutters who have literally beaten a child to death for a very minor offence; an offence that the judge and shopkeeper passed well beyond... sickening.

I would imagine the shopkeeper has some feudal or familial link with the judge, whilst the shoplifter and his family did not.

When the beating commenced, these inbred and uneducated bihari neanderthals, conditioned by thousands of years of tribal primitiveness, just got carried away in a bout of mass hysteria and beat the fellow to death.

India is an insane country, chaos reigns, and an emotionally charged crowd can very easily turn into a monstrously uncontrollable organism, capable of unpredicable and terrible things.

In kashmir I once saw a bus driver pulled from his cab and beaten to death by a mob that suddenly developed after a minor road accident, and in delhi I saw a tuk tuk driver attacked by a crowd of machete wielding madmen because he was a sikh and the week before a sikh had assassinated the prime minister, Indira ghandi.

In asia, sanity is in very short supply.

I unfortunately read about this the other day and we still give this country money (UK). But what really annoys me is the fact there is a massive diplomatic row about a Indian Diplomats wife being detained for abusing her maid when as the United States pretend to care about Human Rights are currently kissing India's Arse. Instead of cutting all ties and support until India sorts out its abuse of women and children.

Just to Add , I believe the UK should not trade with India too until the above discriminations are properly dealt with.

I think all Indians living in the UK should immediately return and teach their primitive brethren the higher way: cups of tea, The Kumars on DVD, Homepride tinned curry sauces, etc.
