Phuket motorcyclist survives crash with 18-wheeler

PHUKET: A 44-year-old man had a lucky escape when he and his motorbike were in collision with an 18-wheel truck early this morning on Thepkasattri Rd, close to the Tesco-Lotus store in Thalang.

Local people called police after Natthapon Ganson swung through a U-turn and into the path of the truck. When officers reached the scene they found Mr Natthapon at the scene with face and eye injuries.

He was able to stand, but was talking incoherently. He was sent off to the nearby Thalang hospital for treatment and the truck was allowed to go on its way.
