A Russian tourist has lost faith in Pattaya after losing his gold necklace to a transvestite thief.

Sergei Trubarev, 53, complained to police May 17 that two ladyboys and a woman accosted him as he walked on Second Road near Soi 12. As one transvestite distracted him, another grabbed the 90,000 baht necklace and ran. Police did not find them.

Trubarev said he no longer feels that his belongings are safe and even doubts the personal safety of himself and his wife. He said this will be his last visit to Pattaya.

I doubt any locals will take notice and change their ways, the police don't care either, a farang is a farang to them.

Gold doesn't suit some folks, like when some Thais are dripping in it, assuming everyone thinks they are rich, when really it looks tacky and silly...........especially on dark skin or one of those women who have been using too much whitening cream for 40 years.

I wear solid gold studs in my ears because I'm allegic to any cheap metals. But they only cost me a couple of thousand Baht, nice, bright Thai gold, not some plated shite from an overpriced jewellers round here.

I only wear them when I'm dressed up smart though.
