In the early hours of Wednesday morning Pattaya Police received a visit from Mr. Almaboudi, a 57 year old French national.
He was covered in blood after being stabbed in the ribs. Sawang Boriboon volunteers who were at hand gave him first aid before sending him to hospital.
He stated that he was attacked by 4 teenage boys playing guitars on the beach opposite Soi 6.
The cause of the attack is not clear, all he could say was that one of the boys picked a fight with him and pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
Patrol police went to the area but there were no boys playing guitars to be seen or any blood stains on the ground.
Furthermore, people sitting nearby stated they hadn’t seen anyone playing guitars or any trouble occurring whilst they were there for nearly 2 hours.
However, an investigation will begin once the Frenchman recovers to make a full statement.

Longtime expat to Pattaya, saw him many times. A quiet fellow who minds his own business. He was in the news before, beaten up by a gang of Thais.

My guess would be he got stabbed by a ladyboy for non payment or short payment for services rendered hence the guys on the beach excuse.

Foreigner Stabbed on Beach in Thailand in Random Act of Violence

57 year old vacationer from Cologne, France was stabbed while walking on a beach in Pattaya on May 15, 2013.
The victim said there was a girl playing guitar, he went to have a chat with her and was attacked by a group of youths with knives.
He doesn’t know the youths, has never seen them before and has done nothing to provoke the attack.
Police said it’s probably the same group of youths that frequently attacks foreigners in what always seem to be random acts of violence.
